You’ve got plenty to share, based on your clinical experience. IPSO events are great opportunities to get started and to develop your thoughts by bringing forward your sessions.
The Study Day has set aside plenty of space for discussion, so that exchanges emerge, and the group can weave threads of thought. It will give us all the privilege of working with Jonathan Sklar’s proposal to associate external and internal anxieties with metaphors. We will be listening to both the analysand and analyst’s anxieties.

Presenting a psychoanalytic case
The case will be an analysis of 3 or more sessions weekly.
The beginning will consist of how the patient arrived at the idea of psychoanalysis, the presenting complaints, the age, and brief description of how the analysand looks. Then a short history from the initial assessment including the parents as characters, their illnesses if any and how each relates to the patient as well as each other. Similarly, siblings and the birth order. Then any major or important happenings in childhood and adolescence, university if applicable and their present work.
An early memory and some material on their sexual life would be interesting as a way into descriptions of their unconscious object relationships as well as how they began analysis.1 This may be two pages.
Then you will need material from two sessions, perhaps sequentially to see what happens following the first presented material. Please do not provide material from a recording. How the analyst remembers the material is much more in the direction of the impact of the analysand on oneself than a mechanical accuracy recorded by machine. It is much more interesting for the session to reveal its impact on what the analyst remembers as well as its impact on oneself. One’s own unspoken thoughts might be useful and relevant in the direction of the countertransference. And of course, the interpretations that are given. The analysts initial and ongoing countertransference feelings and emotions are not necessarily manifest in the analysis.
It should take between 30–45 minutes to read (15-20 double-spaced pages or 4000-5000 words).

- Your paper should be in English. If you need help with translation, let us know, and we can assist by proofreading your text.
- Confidentiality is important. Names should be changed and any other patient identifying, or identifiable information or otherwise confidential information should not be included.
- The text will be projected onto a screen, so a clearly written version with your name and your IPA- component society is welcome.
- Paper Size: A4 (21.0 x 29.7 cm), and NOT US letter.
- Line Spacing: Double line spacing. No indentation.
- Justification: Full justification
- Body Text Formatting: in Times New Roman point 11 normal, with a 6pt separation between paragraphs.

Un évènement IPSO, par des analystes en formation pour des analystes en formation, est une opportunité pour vous exprimer à l’oral et à l’écrit !
Vous hésitez à proposer une intervention ?
Nous sommes pourtant intéressés par le partage avec vous à partir de votre expérience clinique. Les événements IPSO sont de belles occasions pour vous mettre le pied à l’étrier et développer l’analyse de vos contenus de séances.
La journée d’étude laisse beaucoup de place aux discussions, afin que des échanges aient lieu et que le groupe puisse tisser une pensée. Nous aurons le privilège de travailler avec la proposition de Jonathan Sklar qui nous invite à associer autour des angoisses internes et externes avec des métaphores. Nous serons à la fois à l’écoute de l’anxiété des analysants et de celles des analystes.
Votre soumission devra être reçue au plus tard le 29 avril 2024.
Présentation d’un cas d’analyse
Il devra s’agir d’une analyse à au moins trois fois par semaine.
Vous présenterez d’abord comment le patient est arrivé à l’idée d’une analyse, ses plaintes initiales, son âge et une description succincte de sa présentation physique. Ensuite, vous évoquerez les éléments d’évaluation concernant notamment les figures parentales, les antécédents familiaux s’il y en a, la nature des liens des parents entre eux et avec le patient ainsi que les éléments concernant les membres de la fratrie dans leurs rôles respectifs. Puis vous aborderez les événements importants de la vie du patient durant son enfance, son adolescence, ses éventuelles études supérieures, et la période actuelle du travail. Il serait intéressant de rapporter un souvenir infantile et du matériel sur leur vie sexuelle, ce qui permettrait d’accéder à une description de leurs relations d’objet inconscientes et du lien transférentiel.
Cette partie devra faire environ deux pages.
Ensuite vous utiliserez le matériel de deux séances, peut-être consécutives, ce qui nous permettra d’approfondir les éléments initialement présentés.
Merci de ne pas fournir de matériel provenant d’un enregistrement. L’impact que l’analysant peut avoir sur soi se traduit bien mieux par la remémoration de l’analyste que par une exactitude mécanique enregistrée par une machine. Il est bien plus intéressant que l’intervention révèle les effets qu’elle peut avoir sur la mémoire et la personne de l’analyste.
Les pensées non communiquées, tout autant que les interprétations, peuvent être utiles et pertinentes en ce qui concerne le contre-transfert ; les sentiments contre-transférentiels initiaux et actuels n’étant pas nécessairement manifestes dans l’analyse.
La lecture de votre travail devra prendre environ 30 à 45 minutes, soit 15-20 pages (4000 5000 mots).

- Votre papier devra être rédigé en anglais. Si vous avez besoin d’aide pour la traduction, vous pouvez nous le signaler afin que l’on puisse vous aider.
- La confidentialité est importante. Les noms devront être changés, ainsi que tout signe et information susceptible de permettre l’identification du patient. Des informations confidentielles ne devront pas être incluses.
- Le texte sera projeté sur un écran. En conséquence, une version proprement dactylographiée (sans signes de corrections) comprenant votre nom et la société à laquelle vous appartenez serait la bienvenue.
- Format du papier : A4
- Mise en page : Interligne double, pas d’indentation (pas de retrait de première ligne en début de paragraphe), texte justifié, police Times New roman, 11 ; six points de séparation entre les paragraphes
Votre article devra être soumis au plus tard le 29 avril 2024.
Vous recevrez une réponse concernant cette soumission au plus tard le 31 mai 2024.
